Thank you for visiting my website! My goal as your midwife is to help you have the safest and most satisfying birthing experience possible. It may surprise you to know that home, birth center, and hospital birth are equally safe. Studies show that there is no improvement in outcome for mother or baby born in a hospital as opposed to a birth center or a planned home birth.
Midwifery is an ancient tradition that is based on trust. What I strive to provide for you is:
- Gentle, nurturing, care that respects your beliefs
- Use of the traditional midwifery skills of touch, listening, and observing
- Respect for your informed decisions about medical tests, recommendations and interventions
- Willingness to support your birth plan
- Encouragement to embrace authenticity and boldness in mothering

Pregnancy and birth are normal events in a woman’s life. I subscribe to the midwive’s model of care which is woman-centered and proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma and cesarean section. It includes:
- Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
- Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
- Minimizing technological interventions
- Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical care
